Letter from Elder Green - June 24, 2013

Hi Mommy!
I got your package! It was a bigg'n! Thanks I appreciate it! My companions always know that if there is a package slip in the mail box it is from you. haha.

Hey dad!
Thanks for the package! It was pretty awesome! It was funny bringing that thing to the car but I really appreciate it. That's cool that you got to talk to Elder Parry's parents. Elder Parry is the man. He is such a killler missionary, lets just say there is a reason that he is an AP.

I will be here in Lacey till July 9th and then I think I am getting transferred. That isn't set in stone but I think that I am.

My mission has made me love kids. Yesterday I was sitting by this super cute 5 year old girl in sacrament and I was letting her draw in my planner and it was just really funny. We had dinner last night at their house too and in the middle of dinner she was like "Guess what, Mom, Elder Green is my favorite missionary!" It was hilarious. The kids in the ward here are just all really cute. I get why Jesus liked them.

I got Todd's tie in the mail. It's a nice tie! I'm excited about it!
I love you and hope all is well at home!
Love your son,
Elder Green

Letters and Pictures - June 17, 2013

Hi Mommy!
That's cool that you gave a talk. I bet you did an awesome job. You are basically me but cooler so I can't imagine you did a bad job at all. Kels told me about Z growing into his head as well haha that's good to hear. I haven't checked the mail yet so I don't know about the package. I did get the letter from Grandpa and Grandma, though. It was really nice. He had some amazing things to tell me and it meant a lot. I think I'll write him a letter back tonight. I'm really grateful I have such a good relationship with my grandparents because I don't think that is that common of a thing. Of course he sent me $20.  ha ha

This week has been ok. One really cool investigator named Morgan dropped us which was kinda a surprise because she said she believed the Book of Mormon to be true. But we found a part-member family named the Bugalas a little while ago and they are the absolute coolest people ever. Justin is the husband and he is a less active member and his wife's name is Mary Lou and she isn't a member. They are 21 and 20 and haven't even been married a year but they're an awesome couple. We have been teaching them all week and Mary is on date for baptism on July 6th, the same day that our other investigators Ashley and Vadim are getting married.

The Bugalas seriously are the coolest!  In fact today we spent the day with them. Justin works on base at Fort Lewis and took us there to see the helicopters that he works on and we hung out on base for a while.

Warriors in pros and we're going to battle.
We know we're legit or we'd be in Seattle.

Every time we come over to their house they are so excited to see us. Justin is so excited about getting back into church. He just bought two new suits and church clothes and has been working with us to help his wife get an answer that the Book of Mormon is true. Being a missionary is the absolute coolest because of people like them.

Have a great week. I love and miss you!
Elder Green

Hey Pa!
So I hear you're copying my style? Don't blame you. Mom told me that you got the same suit as me. My week has been pretty good. The weather was great which is good because Thursday was park day so I was on bike. I was also on bike most of Friday because the zone leaders were in Tacoma so they needed the car.

I do work out a tiny bit. We have some weights in our apartment and I sometimes try to work out in the morning in an effort to be obedient but its hard. I haven't seen Tom either since mothers day but I gave him your number and told him to call you.

I also got Grandpas letter. It was really cool. Grandpa has always made a big impact on my life and he's definitely one of my heroes so it meant a lot to me to get that letter. Grandma sent me a letter too which was really cute. I have the best grandparents and I am so grateful for them.

Thanks for being such a cool dad and for being such a good example. I liked being able to reflect yesterday at church about what a good dad you are and how blessed I have been to have good parents like you and mom. Have a good week and keep me updated as always.

Letters from Elder Green - June 10, 2013

Hi mommy!
Well I'm glad to hear that you fed the missionaries. They are lucky to have you cook for them since you make such killer food. I for sure get fed a lot here and the members always will give us stuff. We get free eggs from a guy named brother Easter (No need to make an obvious pun). I got your packages on Saturday. All my companions were just like "Your mom is pretty cool." And I was like ,"Yeah."

I really appreciate the packages. Getting mail is always super fun and eating food is also pretty awesome. Good call with the animal crackers by the way. The starbursts are also a group favorite, especially those fav reds.

This week had some pretty crazy ups and downs. We were tracting on Monday and found this 17 year old kid named Tay walking down the street. We talked to him for a minute and hit it off really well. We invited him on a church tour and he was interested. A couple of days later we took him on the Church tour and the spirit was super strong, we taught him the message of the restoration and then invited him to be baptized and he accepted. He came to church on Sunday as well which is always the hardest thing to get people to do. He still has a ways to go before he can get baptized but he is super sincere. It's amazing to see how the Lord has prepared people.

Hey Dad!
This week was pretty awesome. We found this way sick new investigator named Tay. He is 17 and he wants to get baptized. I'm really excited about teaching him and watching his testimony grow. I had a lot of cool little miracles happen this week. I also got anti-ed while tracting a lot more than usual which was weird. It makes me feel bad for the people missing out on this Gosple. It's so amazing the blessing that come from the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith and people try so hard to poke holes in it and believe lies. I just wish people would accept it easier. All we can do is invite I suppose.

Happy Fathers day coming up! Thanks for being such an amazing father to me. I just hope one day my kids get to have as great of a dad and I have been blessed with. You taught me how important the gospel is and have always been an amazing example to me. I know that I am extremely blessed with a loving family.

Letters from Blake

June 3, 2013

Hi, mommy!
That's pretty cute that Zeke can here his voice now. I love that guy- he is so cute. My new companion is pretty rad. His name is Elder Waring (pronounced wearing) and he is from England. He has a pretty sweet accent and sometimes we have no idea what he is talking about just because they have different words for different things there.  haha it's cool though. He is a good missionary, very bold. He has been a missionary as long as I have but he served in Scotland for a transfer because of visa issues. Things are a lot  different here in the WA-TAC than where he was before. I am super glad that I am staying here in the WA-TAC. There is a lot of mission pride here.  I am glad to be staying in Lacey as well. Lacey is a great area and we are getting a pretty sweet teaching pool going.

We had a missionary fireside yesterday where we had a choir of missionaries singing and a bunch of us gave testimonies (not me) and some recent converts spoke. It was really spiritual and cool. Nothing too crazy has happened really. Just the usual frustrations and small miracles that come with being a missionary. I love it though and we have been having a ton of fun this transfer. Also I got my F-701 engraved. Now it says "Elder Blake R Green    WA-TAC" -  its the sickest.

I don't have anything specifically I need you to send me off the top of my head. I will let you know once I come up with anything. Thanks for the video of Zeke, he is the cutest. Have a good week, I love you!

Hey Papa Bear!
This past week has been really good. The weather has been decent but still a little rainy. I was on bike with Elder Kearney the other day and it started raining so hard it felt like I took a shower. I got pretty wet. The new guy is pretty rad. His name is Elder Waring (pronounced wearing) from Devin England. He has the sickest accent. I drive quite a bit now because Elder Bishop and I are the only ones that know the area and He doesn't know it very well haha. This week I have been teaching a lot of lessons. I love teaching and it's also the thing that I am the worst at so I like all the practice I can get. I taught 2 people the Restoration on their doorsteps which was pretty fun. I have met some super cool people, also some pretty awful people. I had a cool small miracle happen the other day. I was in the apartment deciding where we should knock and Elder Waring half joking said to pray about it. So I did. I found a road on the map I never knew really existed and felt like we should knock there. Elder Bishop and I knocked together and the last house we found this super cool girl named Morgan who said she had a lot of LDS friends and wanted to read the Book of Mormon. We are going back tonight to talk to her more. You never know where things could go but I thought it was a small miracle and an answer to a prayer. I have noticed a lot of those lately.

I'm glad to hear about everything going well at home. I bet it is really starting to warm up there. Keep on keeping on.
Love, Elder Green
