Weaver's Homecoming

Hey Mom & Dad,

Mom, you are so funny. That was the longest email but that is okay because you had a crazy week. I'm so glad that you were able to go to the Weaver's homecoming.  The Weavers are so amazing and I am so glad that you got to meet them.  They really changed my life.  I don't know how I am so lucky to have these amazing people put in my life that bring me so much closer to my Heavenly Father.
 Meeting President Weaver

Meeting Sister Weaver

I can't believe that you got to hear Elder Major sing!  (at the homecoming) He is a WA-TAC legend because of his awesome voice.  He is actually young Hyrum Smith in "The Prophet of the Restoration" movie. Crazy huh?

"Amazing Grace" (also sung at the homecoming from all of the RM's) is definitely a show stopper.  Every missionary fireside we had, there was always a miracle where someone felt the spirit when we sang Amazing Grace and wanted to get baptized.  It is a pretty effective missionary tool.

I think that that is so cool that the Geddes's sat behind you! Tender mercy for sure!  You need to make time and hang out with them more, you are too perfect for each other.  I plan to hang out with Elder Geddes after the mission so you might as well hang out with his parents.

The Geddes family.  Blake served with their son in Tacoma

That is funny too, that you sent me a picture of you and Elder Webbers mom.  They seem like really awesome people and I hope I get to meet them one day.

Wendy Webber and Dayna Green
(I sent this picture to Blake of the two of us because Sis Weaver told me at the Homecoming that at every event where he (Elder Green)  and Elder Webber were at together, Blake would ask Sis Weaver to take a picture of the two of them to put on the blog so the mom's would see it.  ha ha)

We do have transfers this next week.  Elder Walker and I have been together for 2 transfers and he has been here for 4 (that is 6 months almost) so I think that he is probably out of here.   I think Elder Lemieux will probably stay with me for another transfer as well.

I can't believe that you got to hear Uchtdorf talk at the Dee Events Center!  He is for sure top three in my book.

So this week was pretty cool.  We had interviews with Pres. Blatter and that was great.  He is an awesome man and definitely follows the spirit.  He gave me some great advice on how to make the rest of my mission successful.  On Friday we had our first MLC with the Blatters and that went great too.  I love going to MLC and getting to see a lot of my old companions!  Anderson, Webber, Smith, Kearney, Kleine, Bellows.  I have served with so many great missionaries!

We have been working with a part member family.  Rich, the husband, isn't a member and we have been teaching him at our stake presidents house.  Rich is on fire!  He is always looking up stuff on the church, he understands stuff so well, he asks some of the most insightful questions I have ever had asked, and he keeps his commitments!  We invited him Saturday day night to read the rest of 1 Nephi this next week (he was on 1 Nephi 9) and the next day at church he was finished with it!  "Now I am going to read 2 Nephi." he said!  He is awesome and I believe that he is on the fast tract to baptism and membership in the church!

Sad news. Pam and Dean Rivers looked up anti-Mormon stuff and almost dropped us. We have a lesson with them today and we have been praying hard about it.  He looked up a lot of stuff from "former members" who misconstrued our doctrine and it freaked them out.  Please pray for them and for us because they and we need a miracle.  Luckily our God is a God of miracles!

I would say this week was a great week.  I am having a good time here in Chehalis!  This week was the STP (Seattle to Portland bike race) and the half way point is Chehalis so there were a ton of bikers riding through our little town this week.  It was fun.

Love you!
Elder Green
