A visit from an Apostle!

Letter from Blake

November 26, 2013

Hi, Mom & Dad!
To answer your question from last week, the two sister missionaries we serve with are sister Elton (the blonde one) and Sister Ryser. This week has been great.  On Wednesday we had Zone Conference for training.  I love getting together with the Zone and seeing everyone.

On Saturday we had the amazing opportunity to listen to an Apostle !!   Elder Neil L. Anderson came and talked to us!!  He was so amazing.  He talked about how the atonement should play a huge role in our lives and he talked about how we teach about things unseen. I took a lot of notes. There is just something that is different when an apostle of the Lord bares his testimony. They are just so positive about the gospel and it invites the spirit so strong.  He was a really funny guy which is cool because you think the apostles would be kind of uptight and they aren't. It makes me think of how Joseph Smith said he had a "Cheery disposition."  It was an incredible day!

We taught the twins 2 lessons this week. They are so cute and so smart. They absolutely love The Nightmare Before Christmas and drew me a picture of Jack Skelington. They also all watch Supernatural! They sound like my family right? Unfortunately the two girls said that they want to wait till they are older to get baptized. They also didn't come to church. It is still possible that they could get baptized this transfer but we will see I guess.

We also had a lesson this week with another twin. We found a girl tracting and set up a return appointment. When we went back her twin answered the door and we taught her the restoration. At first she let us in because she didn't know we were Mormons and when we told her we were it was too late because we were already in the house. She seemed kind of put out but we taught her anyway. When we started talking about the great apostasy you could see a lightbulb go off in her head and she really connected with it. She even asked "How do I know which church is right?" It was pretty rad. She took a Book of Mormon and said she would come to church but we called her sunday and she had lost her voice because she was sick so she wasn't able to go. It has been an interesting week.

That is awesome that Sage is enjoying her new found freedom with the fence being down.  ha ha   I talk about her all the time.  I really miss my puppy. I wish I could see Zeke "woof"   haha that sounds like the cutest thing in the world. I can't believe he is almost a year. I can't believe that I have almost been out for 8 months. Time goes by fast.

I got grampas letter and I really enjoyed it. I wasn't able to write back yesterday but I will hopefully next week. Writing letters is the hardest thing to do on p-day. I also got Winky's letter which was eccentric as always haha- I love her!  I am staying pretty warm. It is definitely cold now but I get by.

Love you,
Elder Green
